Dwight W. Sievert, M.D.

Dr. Sievert has been practicing psychiatry in Fresno, CA for over 35 years. Graduate of University of Minnesota Medical School and Fresno Central Valley San Joaquin Medical Education Project residency program. He specializes in adult outpatient psychiatry focusing on diagnosis and medical management of psychiatric disorders. Dr. Sievert enjoys living and working in Fresno, CA and plans to be here for many more years.

Smadar Aviv, Ph.D. Psychologist

I’m a seasoned psychologist who’s developed a unique approach to empower clients in their personal and organizational endeavors. I provide long/short term integrative/holistic psychotherapy. My services include working with adults, children, couples and families through counseling, conflict resolution, mediation and restorative justice in either divorce proceedings or marital healing. When needed, I engage in intensive up to 2-3 days project conflict resolution consults and mediation. It is very exciting that I have been able to incorporate modern technology in coaching patients to use non defensive communication via text. In addition to my clinical psychology training I am also certified in emotional intelligence coaching, life and executive coaching and leadership training, conflict resolution, peaceful mediation and restorative justice and Imago relationship therapy for marriage and family.

Brian Taylor, P.A.

Brian Taylor, MPAP, PA-C, is a nationally certified Physician Assistant. He completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology from California State University, Fresno and earned his Master of Physician Assistant Practice from, Keck School of Medicine of USC. He spent time training at Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services Clinic known for being the first community-based adult outpatient clinic in Los Angeles. Using evidence based medicine, Brian will help develop a treatment plan that best fits your needs.

Andranik “Andre” Avakian, N.P

Andre Avakian is a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and a former clinical professor at California State University, Fresno. He specializes in Adult Psychiatry. Andre has been working in the field of psychiatry since 2012. His experience in mental health is vast and diverse. Andre has worked at three of the largest inpatient psychiatric hospitals here in the Central Valley which include Kaweah Delta Mental Health in Visalia, Community Behavioral Health Center and Exodus Recovery in Fresno, Ca.  Andre works with patients ages 18 years and older and treats a broad scope of mental health conditions. Andre has Buprenorphine training and certification as a provider. Areas of specialization include: Addiction Disorders, Adjustment Disorder, Anxiety and Panic Disorders, Bipolar Disorders, Depressive Disorders, Medication Evaluation and Management, Mood Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Psychotic disorders, Schizophrenic Disorders, Sleep or Insomnia Disorders. Barbara Woodward, N.P

With over 30 years of health care and mental health experience, beginning in nursing and moving on to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Barbara seeks to understand each client and their unique experiences to provide the best level of care needed. Born and raised in Fresno, CA, Barbara was nominated for California Nurse of the Year in 2013. She has been working in mental health and with high risk populations for greater than 23 years. Barbara’s current area of practice is addiction medicine. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, horseback riding, backing, gardening, and exercising.

Susan Hostetter, P.N.P

Susan is a Nationally Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner with over 20 years of experience working with children and adolescents in the field of developmental and behavioral pediatrics. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Mount Saint Mary’s University in Los Angeles and worked as a trauma nurse in Pediatric Emergency Departments at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, Boston Children’s Hospital and Rady Children’s Hospital before obtaining her Master’s degree at the University of San Diego and her Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialization. Her pediatric emergency/trauma and primary care experiences exposed the gap between medical and mental health care for children. These gaps in care elicited her special interest in providing mental health services to children. She provides screening with medication evaluation and treatment using evidence-based medicine. Susan treats mental health concerns such as anxiety and panic disorders, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), autism and mood disorders in children 8 to 18 years of age.

Rupinder Kaur, A.M.F.T

Rupinder is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who is passionate in providing psychotherapy to individuals, couples, families, children, and teens. She has completed her Master’s in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy at Pepperdine University in Malibu, Ca. Born and raised in India, she’s had the opportunity to experience a genuine taste of multiculturalism. She has grown fond of learning about different cultures and backgrounds and bring this experience into her work as a therapist. Throughout her journey of receiving education in the United States, her curiosity funneled down from a cultural aspect to individuals.  “Building blocks of striving towards happiness is creating a constructive and healthy relationship with self first, then relationships”. Rupinder navigates through presenting problems, such as stress, anxiety, generational trauma, relational obstacles, anger management, family conflicts, self-esteem, cultural barrier, grief, trauma relational stressors and conflict, and chemical dependency. We are the expert in our life, yet sometimes we all need a bit of guidance. Therefore, with support, compassion, and understanding, she works with you to build on your strength to attain the goals you are determined to achieve.

Kristy Garavello, L.C.S.W.

Kristy received her Bachelor’s and Master Degree at California State University Fresno. She has been in practice since 1996. Working with a variety of mental health issues and concerns, including working with victims and perpetrators of domestic violence, divorcing families, anger issues, depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, self-esteem, co-dependency and relational issues. She utilizes a depth oriented psychodynamic approach providing a safe nonjudgmental environment promoting inner discovery and healing. She provides both long-term and brief therapy services with the clinical Psychodynamic focus which includes the therapeutic use of dreams.

Samantha Brown, L.M.F.T.

Samantha received her Masters Degree in 2018 at National University. She has been providing services since 2017 beginning her career working with incarcerated adolescents. Samantha then continued her career serving those with moderate to severe mental health illnesses. Throughout the years she has helped those struggling with depression, anxiety, self-esteem, psychosis, trauma, and relational issues. “I believe people are the experts of their life and may need assistance with managing daily life. I enjoy helping others develop a life of fulfillment.”

Janis Sanclemente, L.M.F.T.

Janis graduated from California State University, Fresno in 2005 with her Master of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy. Janis is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist that has been offering psychotherapy since 2007. She started her career working with children in the foster care system and did that for several years and moved on to working with adults with co-occurring issues for the next seven years and is now focused on working closely with: Individuals that struggle with self-esteem, stress, anxiety and depression by utilizing CBT to help them cope with the stressors of daily life. Adults struggling with issues such as co-dependency, boundary issues, emotional stress, divorce and family or relational issues. Janis’s goal is to empower you with the tools needed to recover, reconnect and grow within yourselves and your relationships.
